‘Ignite’ is a celebration of creativity through film. Nothing excites us more than seeing films that surprise us and show us things that we have never seen before. We love the non-conforming, the extraordinary – the films that dare to do things that others won’t. We are excited to welcome independent films produced around the globe – films that showcase diverse creativity from every culture. Join us for our 2025 event where we will be showing 30 hand-picked short films across 3 nights. DAY 1 LINEUP: We kick off on Wednesday 27th of August with a fantastic line-up of independent films… ‘Whistle’ – Comedy Short – 7m 39s Synopsis: Lisa’s neurosis begins to spiral out of control when she notices an ungodly torment, a plaguing horror...Ray has one whistling nostril. OK/NOTOK – Drama Short – 12m 49s Synopsis: Loretta, a working-class British Asian woman, attempts to navigate a turbulent world, a new stranger in her life and unskippable adverts. Hustle And Run – Documentary Short – 18m 37s Synopsis: Hustle and Run is a joyful, exhilarating underdog story from an unexpected corner of British sport. In Half – Animated Short – 24m Synopsis: Through a child's imagination it tells the journey of a man who after falling prey to his fears, must cross a strange world. The Stork – Drama Short – 8m 17s Synopsis: A character driven comedy that follows well intentioned, but clueless, parents of a queer woman wanting to start a family via artificial insemination using Norwegian semen ordered online. EVOL - Experimental Short - 5m 48s Synopsis: A poetic short film about a young woman grappling with the haunting echoes of past relationships and her unraveling sense of self. Zoe - Micro Short - 2m 19s Synopsis: Whoever you are in the world, you are an extraordinary person... What We Wished We Could Be - Drama Short - 20m 45s Synopsis: Two interwoven moments in the relationship of a couple affected by the contaminated blood scandal, revealing their sacrifices, their love, and the things they never felt safe to say. The Removed - Drama Short - 8m 38s Synopsis: Thinking she is alone, a woman desperately searches the woods for a hidden secret.
